Creativity on The Causeway Coast

Bushmills Craft Makers House Causeway Coast Causeway Craft Trail

We’re so happy to have been involved in the fantastic Causeway Craft Trail recently and it was great to see so many people turn up to both the workshops led by Makers House creatives and the open studio weekend.

During the month of March, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council launched the craft map, The Causeway Craft Trail, making it easy to discover the range of contemporary arts and craft small businesses that thrive here on the North Coast.

Some of our Makers House creatives took part, Jill Gurney led a Macramé Plant Hanger Workshop, Fee McToal led a Beaded Headband Workshop, and Susan Francesca Hunter’s led a Window Box Planter Workshop.

A warm welcome always awaits you when visiting our very own Makers House, a creative hub where like minded designer-makers collaborate to build a vibrant creative experience in Bushmills.

In April we welcomed a new creative to the Ulster University pod in Makers House, Grainne who runs Point Angel, is currently on the Enterprise Placement Year, and has been busy behind the scenes creating a new collection, which  we are lucky to be stocking!

Specializing in embroidery and tufted textiles, Grainne has a passion for design with a desire to bring a happy feel to interior spaces.  She focuses on producing colorful, fun products encouraging confidence and individuality.

The Ulster University Employability and careers has collaborated with The Designerie to showcase creative and graduate work, this collaboration continues to reflect the University's commitment to student and graduate employability and the growth of support initiatives for further developing enterprise and self-employment as viable career options.

Be sure to come to The Designerie and Makers House where our creative space always offers something special and whilst you’re in the area, you can sample the local food and drink that the wonderful village of Bushmills has to offer.
