Find Your Creativity In 2022

A new year means a new start - so why not freshen up your home? Whether you’re looking for a new hobby and need creative inspiration, or you’re planning on redecorating your home - The Designerie has everything you need to inspire you in 2022.

Here are some of our favourite decor ideas for the upcoming season:

Up-Cycling

From turning old end tables into quirky works of art to removing cupboard doors to create open display cases, up-cycling is a surefire way to add character to your home and a decor trend that is here to stay.

Up-cycling is a fantastic way of breathing new life into old items of furniture that you already own. With a lick of paint, you can give anything some new found character.

If you’d like to learn how you can customise your own pieces, you’re in luck, as Sarah Barfoot will be leading two up-cycling workshops on the 5th of February and the 2nd of April in Makers House.

With two classes, (the second being a more advanced approach to up-cycling) you will learn everything you will need to add some unique flourishes to your home.

Soft Furnishings

Soft furnishings are a quick and easy way to change the feel of a room.

We have a wonderful array of throws and cushions available in store and on our website, which you can browse here

If you want to get more hands on, we will be hosting an arm knitting class with Jill Gurney on the 5th of March, where you will have the chance to create your own throw.

Stunning Artworks

Adding a new piece of art to your home can brighten up a room and also tell your story. It may be an extension of your personality or showcase a place that is sentimental to you.

From textile and ceramic wall art to bespoke photography prints and original art, we have an extensive range to choose from both in store and online

However you decide to refresh your home, make The Designerie your first stop! You can get inspiration from our Designerie Home displays featuring unique pieces and meet our Makers House photographer Laura McIlveen.

We hope to see you soon!
