Since we opened in 2014, our social enterprise on the beautiful North Coast has helped support so many brilliant creative businesses.
We are so proud to offer our customers a one-stop shop, where not only can you purchase with purpose, but you can get immersed in the artistic atmosphere and feel part of the vibrant creative sector.
When you choose to shop here, you not only get to browse our fantastic range of unique, hand-crafted home and giftware from local makers and creators from the Island of Ireland but you’ll also get to meet our talented residents of Makers House on the first floor of The Designerie.
Makers House opened in 2018 and provides an innovative creative hub where like-minded designer-makers can collaborate together to make, market, and support the Arts and Crafts sector in Northern Ireland.
Our current Makers House team includes Jill Gurney of Linen Lane, Laura McIlveen Photography, Susan Francesca Hunter, Fee McToal Design and through our collaboration with Ulster University Belfast School of Art and Employability and Careers, Gillian Brownlow who is our Graduate In Residence.
Our creatives draw inspiration from all areas of their lives and surroundings. Fee McToal famously dreams of her designs for hats and accessories - and these designs come to life in store -, while Laura McIlveen, chases light, drawing inspiration from our beautiful Causeway Coast.
We feel it is important to not only support the creative sector but other like minded social enterprises too and we are excited to welcome a new product into our store, Outside In, a streetwear brand which gives back with every purchase made by donating clothes to people experiencing homelessness.
Come along to our shop from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, you never know you might be able to have a go at making something yourself.
If you can’t make it to the shop, make sure to check out our online store, and to keep up with all things The Designerie, sign up for our newsletter at: www.thedesignerie.co.uk
