Unique, handmade, polka dot earrings in a variety of colours.  Carefully created by the wonderful Ellen Woods.

Who is Ellen Woods?

Brought up in Northern Ireland, in the rural landscapes of County Down, with two brothers a Mum and Dad. My passion for ceramics began at the age of 3, when I was allowed into my fathers ceramic workshop. I always loved “playing with clay” and spending time with my father. My skills have grown over the years and my passion for ceramics has developed. I find my inspiration in the surrounding area of where I live and love, the rural landscapes where I come from. I create because I love the materials that I work with and I can combine my emotions, thoughts and feelings into ceramic art pieces for others to enjoy.

About Janine Mayes (Janmary Designs)

While on a career break from banking (16 years later it isn’t really a career break any more, is it?!) I began creating jewellery for myself, then for friends and within 6 months I was selling my designs online and at local craft fairs. A few years later I had the thrill of selling my designs in local shops here in N Ireland as well as continuing with an online shop. Over 20 shops in Northern Ireland now stock my jewellery.

Mora Jewellery - Long Drop Rustic Malachite Earrings

Mora Jewellery - Long Drop Rustic Malachite Earrings

Regular price £48.00
/
Tax included.

Long malachite earrings made with recycled sterling silver and textured for a rustic finish. 6mm stones are set in silver and a wirewrap feature is added. These earrings are light and easy to wear, measuring approx 5cm from the ear, and the flash of colour from the stone catches the eye.

I’ve treated the silver to give it a darkened appearance that brings out the texture and gives a rustic finish.

They will be presented in a beautiful gift box - and you can add an optional gift message for a lovely present.

About Mora Jewellery

"All the jewellery is made using certified recycled sterling silver, with the addition of semi precious stones, and I use traditional metalsmithing techniques self taught over many years of enjoyment with my aim to create unique pieces that are a pleasure to wear.

I studied history and archaeology as a student and have always loved celtic art and design, particulary of the La Tene period in Europe with it's interlacing geometric patterns and curvilinear lines and shapes. My jewellery takes inspiration from that style but with a modern twist.

It's also very important to me to use recycled silver.

Mining metal is environmentally very costly but silver is infinitely recyclable and can be melted down and re-used continuously - basically just clean it and melt it!

The bulk of the world's silver (60%) is used in industry and technology because of it's conductive, reflective and anti bacterial qualities but it would often eventually be lost to landfill. However more and more of the silver used in industry is now being recouped and re-used, both due to environmental legislation but also due to the fact that it can be sold on. Currently about 20% of the worlds silver is now produced through recycling - mainly from industrial sources but also from jewellery and silverware - and that is predicted to rise in the coming years.

A beautiful item of silver jewellery gives so much pleasure and is worn and enjoyed for years. It's something we all love and recycled silver has to be the natural choice."

About Morag Chambers

Jewellery design has been a long term love and, over the last 20 years, I've created jewellery and taught jewellery making in a variety of media.

However attending courses in Belfast and at the Irish School of Jewellery in Dublin introduced me to working with silver. I love the challenge of learning new skills and now handcraft sterling silver, fine silver and gemstone jewellery using traditional metalwork and wirework techniques.

Each piece is made at my home workshop in Bangor, Northern Ireland and incorporates the influences of my Scottish family roots and upbringing in Ireland.

I combine subtle elements of traditional celtic patterns with a clean, modern design style to create original pieces.

About (Helen Perry) Strombolitwo

I grew up in New Zealand where I first learnt to knit and sew.It was only after university that I started producing pieces for sale. For eight years I designed and produced womenswear under the label Stromboli Apparel in Sydney where my love of fabrics, hardware and draping came together. However the pressure of the business led me to leave it all behind.

After years of talking about getting back into doing something with textiles, and living and working in Northern Ireland, Strombolitwo arrived enabled by etsy and the opportunites it can provide to connect with fellow crafts people and buyers.

I love my workshop at home in the gorgeous country side of Northern Ireland where the natural environment inspires the creative processes. And my family back in Australia who go hunting for bits of 'bling' to add into the mix
