About Rachel Julca

Rachel Julca's unique background in Graphic design, jewellery, card and felt making along with an inherited kiln thrown in the mix results in the most delightfully happy and individual pictures. Living and working in South America as well as Ireland has been and continues to be a huge influence on her work. Wherever she goes she draws inspiration from her surroundings whether it be a castle, the Antrim coast or local villages. She is passionate about what she does and is constantly thinking up new ideas.

Rachel makes everything in her pictures herself by hand: each house, tree, bicycle, sheep etc. she also sources the elements herself as "locally" as possible. The quality frames are made within the isle of Ireland from a local company. They sit or hang beautifully. Special requests can be made. Meanwhile we hope you enjoy looking at the pictures and details while they transport you somewhere nice.

About Me and my work

Hi my name is Rachel Julca. I create mixed media street scene pictures, brooches, decorations and design clothing. I take inspiration from my surroundings in Ireland. I first started my business in 2014 after I first designed my original design at a cross community course I attended for women in business. For my final project i wanted to design an image I could use on a table which displayed the jewellery I made.

I wanted to design something uniquely me and thought the best place to start would be my own home. I took pictures of the things I LOVE and used them as inspiration to make my design. People loved the design I did on the cloth and I soon realised that it was gaining more attention than the jewellery! I decided to make some products with the design on and for about 8 months at the Fine & Dandy Fair in Belfast watched and listened and evolved my products accordingly. Soon the ceramic pictures I had made were getting all the attention and thanks to encouragement from my friend Trevor Woods from Mount Ida Pottery I began to refine the idea.
