Small turquoise oval stones set into textured and antiqued silver to give a rustic, interesting look to these earrings. The blue of the turquoise stands out vividly against the darkened silver and the added details of the wire wrapping and decorative silver ball make these earrings unique.
All parts of the earrings are handmade by Morag from recycled silver sheet and wire, using traditional metalsmithing techniques.
Their length is 4cm from the ear and they are approx 1.2cm wide.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December

About Morag Chambers
Jewellery design has been a long term love and, over the last 20 years, I've created jewellery and taught jewellery making in a variety of media.
However attending courses in Belfast and at the Irish School of Jewellery in Dublin introduced me to working with silver. I love the challenge of learning new skills and now handcraft sterling silver, fine silver and gemstone jewellery using traditional metalwork and wirework techniques.
Each piece is made at my home workshop in Bangor, Northern Ireland and incorporates the influences of my Scottish family roots and upbringing in Ireland.
I combine subtle elements of traditional celtic patterns with a clean, modern design style to create original pieces.
