Small Business Saturday: Mora Jewellery

Small Business Saturday: Mora Jewellery

We held out this week, waiting patiently for the Royal Mail to arrive as we knew we had a gorgeous delivery coming from Morag and it was worth it!

This week for our "Small Business Spotlight" we are featuring "Mora Jewellery" and former Maker's House member, jeweller - Morag.

Morag makes inspiring and contemporary jewellery accessible. Her collections are designed and handcrafted with love from her studio in Bangor, Northern Ireland and we think this shows in her work.

 Inspiration

Morag is inspired by the landscape around her and the rich history of celtic art - often using intricate knots, spirals, and timeless symbolism. Each piece tells a story, weaving together elements of nature, spirituality, and craftsmanship.

Her commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability sets her apart in the world of jewellery design. Morag meticulously handcrafts each piece, infusing it with a unique blend of creativity and precision. Moreover, she takes great care to source recycled metals and ethically obtained gemstones, aligning her work with eco-conscious principles.

Unique Collections

Mora Jewellery offers a range of unique collections that cater to diverse tastes and styles. Whether you're looking for a delicate piece for everyday wear or a statement accessory for a special occasion, Morag's designs have something for everyone. From elegant necklaces inspired by seashells to intricate rings reminiscent of Celtic knotwork, her collections are a testament to her versatility as a designer.

Why recycled silver?

Mining metal is environmentally very costly but silver is infinitely recyclable and can be cleaned, melted down and re-used continuously.

The bulk of the world's silver (60%) is used in industry and technology because of it's conductive, reflective and anti bacterial qualities but it is often lost to landfill. However more and more of the silver used in industry is now being recouped and re-used, both due to environmental legislation but also due to the fact that it can be sold on. Currently about 20% of the worlds silver is now produced through recycling - mainly from industrial sources but also from jewellery and silverware - and that is predicted to rise in the coming years.

A beautiful item of silver jewellery gives so much pleasure and is worn and enjoyed for years. It's something we all love and recycled silver has to be the natural choice.

We are so proud to stock Mora Jewellery, her handmade collections being delivered bi monthly are a highlight for us and we hope you love it too
