Róisín Dubh Dearg Silk Twill Scarf – Éadach
A piece with a strong sense of story, the Róisín Dubh Dearg scarf by Éadach draws on one of Ireland’s most enduring songs and symbols.
Designed by Irish artist Sara O’Neill, Éadach centres around retelling old stories through print—bringing together folklore, history, and nature in a way that feels thoughtful but easy to wear. Each piece carries its own narrative, expressed through carefully layered imagery.
This design is inspired by Róisín Dubh—meaning “Little Dark Rose”—a song that has long been associated with love, longing, and Ireland itself. The print reflects that depth, with dark roses, wild horses, and shifting, dreamlike elements woven throughout. The “dearg” (red) tones add warmth and contrast, softening the darker details and giving the piece a sense of balance.
Printed on smooth silk twill, the scarf has a soft drape and a natural flow when worn. It can be styled simply or wrapped more loosely, letting different parts of the design come into view over time.
