This fantastic opportunity offers you a permanent space as a base where you will be able to make and market your products.
Our commitment to support small business to develop and expand is what makes us so unique, and this newest sponsorship has come about after several successful years of The Enterprise Causeway operated, Designerie and Makers House. Earlier this year, the University similarly sponsored a pod within Makers House, providing Graduates and Students a space to successfully start their self-employment journey.
Business Manager, Leeanne Irwin, says the idea behind Makers House came about after wanting “a creative hub where creatives could run their business from the upstairs space helping them to bring their product to market in a safe environment where they’d have the mentorship and support of the manager to help grow their businesses” and following through with that ethos, Makers House has become a vibrant, thriving and supportive business hub.
The collective grouping of the resident small businesses in such an intimate environment, enables the makers and artists to forge not only friendships, but also supportive business relationships which is mutually beneficial especially for those new to the scene, through the likes of the sponsorship initiatives.
The application process to be accepted into the sponsored pod enables small businesses the opportunity to begin their company within The Designerie without having to worry about financial aspects and upkeep.
Leeanne comments that this “will be a great opportunity for a small creative business to showcase their business on The Causeway Coast, without the normal overheads for premises.”
