The picturesque landscape of Ireland is a constant source of inspiration for many of the artists we feature in the shop and we are excited to bring a selection of new handcrafted pieces by multidisciplinary artist Jane Mathers and ceramist Amanda Murphy to The Designerie.
Although using different mediums to create their unique pieces, both artists captured their respective countryside beautifully.
Here are our 4 Brand New Irish Landscape Inspired Artisan Crafts that you can now find in The Designerie:
County Down based artist Jane Mathers brings her Abstract Landscapes Collection to The Designerie with a selection of unique and handmade framed pieces.
With a background in Textile Craft and Multidisciplinary Design, Jane Mathers’ practice is a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques, creating engaging and innovative textile art pieces.
This new collection is inspired by the ever-changing Irish landscape. Hand-painted and hand-stitched each framed piece depicts an individual landscape.
2. Winter Walk
You can find pieces of the Abstract Landscaped Collection in the shop or online.
Drawing inspiration from the Irish landscape, Amanda Murphy creates decorative hand-built stoneware ceramics. From vases to plates and bowls, her ceramic pieces offer a birds-eye view of the countryside.
With crystalline glaze Amanda’s pieces are exceptionally unique, featuring throwing rings and stamps that represent “our ancient heritage of ogham stones and Celtic imagery”.
The perfect centrepiece for your living room coffee table or even your dining table, this Rockpool Tealight Holder is inspired by the rockpools in County Waterford. The edges and textures reflect the rocks while the rippled shape is reminiscent of the sways of the pools.
A popular choice for weddings, new home gifts, or even corporate gifts, this beautifully rippling bowl echoes the mountains and valleys of Ireland. Featuring a decorative signature stamp, applied texture, glaze, oxides and recycled glass the dish conveys the colours of nature.
