The Designerie Announced As Finalists In The Causeway Chamber Business Awards

We’re so proud to have been announced as finalists for the ‘Retailer of The Year’ category in the Causeway Chamber Business Awards.

Being nominated for this award means so much to us because it recognises retailers for the quality of service and innovative merchandising which is very close to our hearts.

Our committed staff work hard every day to ensure we provide the best quality service and curate the most unique products for our customers.

The well established creative hub we have created in Makers House gives small businesses and local creators the platform to collaborate, support each other and build a strong vibrant creative sector on the Causeway Coast.

Don’t just take our word for it - our Makers House residents were happy to share what they believe makes the Designerie and Makers House worthy of winning the title of Retailer of The Year,  and how it has helped them grow their businesses and their customer base.

“Being part of Makers House within The Designerie over the past 2 years has been amazing.  Not only has my customer base expanded but I am working on projects that can be brought in over the next year or more which I had never thought possible before. It has made me more confident and self-assured - not only for my business but also personally."

“Makers House is an arty yet fun environment to be a part of and customers and visitors alike definitely do feel that that vibe and return time and time again.” said Fee Mctoal of Fee Mctoal Designs

Susan Francesca Hunter has been occupying her studio upstairs where she creates functional pottery for the past 18 months.

“The Designerie is a unique shop with an eclectic range of art, craft and furniture. It's a friendly, welcoming space with a calm feeling in this busy world.” she explained.

Resident photographer, Laura McIlveen, joined Makers House in August 2019 as a young start-up business. She admits that her favourite part of Makers House has been the people. She said:

“Us Designer Makers have great fun in-store. If you’ve been to Makers House, I’m sure you’ve heard us laughing or planning our next project!

“We collaborate, we support each other, and we have a lot of fun along the way!”
